GROUNDWATER: MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE

Groundwater is invisible, but its impact is visible everywhere. Almost all of the liquid freshwater in the world is groundwater. As climate change gets worse, groundwater will become more and more critical. We need to work together to sustainably manage this precious resource. Groundwater may be out of sight, but it must not be out of mind.

Ground water table in Bengaluru is also decreasing gradually and is main source of water supply in many parts of the city. Bangalore Apartments' Federation (BAF) is committed to engage its members towards conserving water through knowledge sharing, awareness sessions and helping installing rainwater hearvesting & ground recharge systems and promoting effective use of STPs.

The Pledge

I WILL USE AERATORS TO CONTROL WATER FLOW

I WILL REUSE RO REJECT WATER FOR MOPPING OR DISHWASHING

I WILL OPERATE WASHING MACHINE LESS FREQUENTLY AND ONLY ON OPTIMUM LOAD

I WILL REQUEST MY APARTMENT MANAGEMENT TO REUSE STP TREATED WATER IN FLUSHES

I WILL REQUEST MY APARTMENT MANAGEMENT TO INSTALL RAINWATER HARVESTING & GROUND RECHARGE SYSTEMS

I WILL SEGREGATE WASTE PROPERLY TO AVOID GROUND WATER CONTAMINATION

I WILL SPREAD AWARENESS TO MY FRIENDS & FAMILY TO CONSERVE WATER

THE CONTESTS

The entries should be on the theme GROUNDWATER: MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE that potrays some message. The picture may potray message of groundwater conservation, responsible usage, avoiding contamination etc.

Best submissions will get prizes. All participants will get digital appreciation certificates.

1 - PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

Grab your cameras and click something interesting. The picture should be self taken and should have date on it (Check Camera settings for it). This is open for all age groups.
